The Dog ate My Boob Job Money

Yes you read it right, well almost right.  I mean do you really think I'm feeding my almost 100lbs Great Dane puppy money? No way, no how, but he did eat up my boob job money in a sense.  So as I mentioned before, I scheduled my boob job for January 2014.  I want to get my "girls" done ASAP but hubby and I are saving up for them.  I also thought it would be cool for him to come home from deployment to new boobs.  I know it sounds corny, but the married folks can probably understand.  In preparation for my surgery date, I coordinated with my Mom to come back and stay with the kids and I to help take care of us while I recover. She volunteered to stay 2 weeks even though I would only need her for a week.  I am of course not complaining!  I went over in my head other details to take care of to make things go as smooth as possible such as finding a place for the doggy to stay while I recover.

Just as I started my countdown to "B" day, my 8 month old Great Dane puppy Sgt Major Blue got sick.  It came on all of a sudden and wasn't his usual outside eating crap ailments.  He moaned and groaned in a lot of pain.  It hurt him to stand up or lay down.  I dragged my kids out of bed in the wee hours of the morning and tried to lift a 100lbs puppy into the back of my SUV to take him to the ER.  Let's say I was super woman at her finest!

To make a long story short, SGM Blue had to spend Veteran's Day weekend in the hospital.  So as you can imagine, Hubby and I were already seeing the $$$ signs rack up.  If I've said it once, I've said it a million times...we went into the wrong profession!  We should have been veterinarians.  Its ridiculous how much vet bills are.  So in one weekend SGM Blue started to run through my boob job fund and there was more to come.  After he got out the hospital he was not better.  I ended up taking him to an ortho specialist, and two other vets.  No one could figure out what was wrong with him.  All the doctors figured he had some neurological problem going on.  So after two weeks of him still being sick, no sleep for me, and no answers, my friend and I drove 2.5 hours away to take him to a neurologists.

During the trip, my friend and I joked that SGM Blue had eaten up all my boob job money and at this rate I could only get one boob done.  She and I work together and said that we will go around our office with baked goods and a boob job jar fund to try to get enough money for my other boob!  We had to do what we could all day to lighten up while we waited nervously trying to figure out what was wrong with the big little guy.  Finally the doctors found out that he has meningitis.  Yes, dogs can get meningitis.  Don't feel bad I didn't know that either.  We were relieved that we knew what was wrong and surprisingly the bill wasn't as much as we anticipated.  So then my friend, Laurie said, "Well now I guess you can get both boobs done."

That's how my dog ate my boob job fund.  Hubby and I are quite cheap and budget friendly, so we are continuing to save and I was able to reschedule my boob job for March 2014.  I decided I was much more comfortable with waiting until he got home because you never know what can happen while he is away.  I mean everything seems to happen anyway while he is away so why wouldn't the sky fall when I'm trying to heal from a boob job, and take care of the puppy and kids?  He agreed that it would be best to wait until he got home so that he could be there for me and be able to take care of everything.  Also we scheduled it around the time he gets home when he would be on block leave anyway.  He is excited to lay up in bed with me and catch up on all our favorite shows and movies.

So stay tuned to more of my boob job adventures.  I'm pretty sure there is more in store with my luck!
